Climate Change from an Alternative Perspective

The Canadian Federal election is over and Canada rejected the green taxation policies of the Liberal Party and the now infamous Green Shift. While the Conservatives did not capture a majority as I had predicted, they only manged to pick up 19 more seats leaving them 11 short, the biggest loser in the race was the economic killing environmental taxation policies that had such sweeping support among environmentalists and left leaning economists across Canada. The Liberals paid a heavy toll, losing 17 seats and weaking the party even more.

This should be the final verdict on Climate Change as a form of overall fiscal policy in Canada for the next 2 years at a minimum. The next test will be here in British Columbia as the plans regarding the Western Climate Initiative get digested and we see the fiscal results of the Carbon Tax policy at the provincial level and move into a provincial election.

I applaud Canadians for rejecting the Green Shift and finally putting to rest the notion of economic security and progress through green policies as a cure for all things. The results showed a serious miscalculation by the Liberals as to the Canadian people's views surrounding the issue of Climate Change.

Perhaps there is a ray of hope here.
